Purposes


To develop students' physical competence and knowledge of movement and safety, and their ability to use these to perform in a wide range of activities associated with the development of an active and healthy lifestyle.
To develop students' confidence and generic skills, especially those of collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking and aesthetic appreciation.
To nurture positive values and attitudes in PE, provide a good foundation for students’ lifelong and life-wide learning to face different challenges.

Contents


Fundamental activity: Developing mobile skills, balance and stability skills and equipment manipulation skills.

Rhythmic activity: Following music and rhythmic to perform movement such as run and jump, as well as be able to perform simple group dance.

Track and field: Learning skills such as sprint, relays, long jump, softball throw and endurance run.

Swimming: Being familiar with swimming, floating skills and depending on students' abilities to learn freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly gradually. (Swimming classes will be suspended until further notice.)

Ball games: Learning basic skills, rules and regulations of team sports such as basketball, football, volleyball and dodgeball, and playing simple matches.

Physical fitness: Training and evaluating cardiopulmonary endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance and flexibility.
